3 ON YOUR SIDE (3TV) - Ann Foster is an avid photographer. She sees beauty in everything and likes to share her pictures by uploading them from her phone.
"I like sharing things on Facebook and WhatsApp,” she told 3 On Your Side. “If I can share some video or a nice shot, I would be happy to share it with the world."
And, she has quite the following, particularly on Google Maps where she's posted over 700 pictures.
"How many people saw my photos?” she asked, chuckling. “Look, 1,097,880 people saw my pictures."
Foster's cellphone service is with AT&T, and because she uploads so much content, she's on AT&T's unlimited plan. Her bill is usually a couple of hundred dollars. However, her most recent bill is jaw-dropping.
“All of the sudden, I have a bill for $51,000,” she said. “$51,000. That's crazy."
She's right. 3 On Your Side reviewed her AT&T bill, which amounts to more than $51,000.
Foster says she’s called AT&T dozens of times, only to be told that she was somehow removed from her unlimited plan and placed on an extremely expensive one.
“The only thing I can think of is that there was some kind of a glitch," she told us.
Foster says AT&T keeps telling her to pay the $51,000 bill. So, she contacted 3 On Your Side for help.
"If I'm not with you, then I am alone against AT&T. That's a big, huge company,” she said.
3 On Your Side got involved and we asked AT&T to review Foster's account. They agreed to, and for the past week, they’ve been investigating. However, they haven't waived the $51,000 bill yet. So, we wait.
"I think 3 On Your Side is going to be helpful here. Many people don't have resources. But you and your team provide a hand," said Foster.
AT&T says they are still looking into the matter to see what went wrong and how Foster wound up with a $51,000 cellphone bill.
When there’s an update, 3 On Your Side will let you know in a follow-up news report.
